Golf
Golf at 9,500 feet in Telluride
The Telluride Golf Course is located right outside
The Wyndham Peaks Resort in Mountain Village. The
spectacular course winds around the beautiful mesa
including crossing several ski runs. The course is
lined with multi-million dollar vacation homes and
shimmering aspen trees. The par 71 course is relatively
short, because of the altitude - 9,400 feet above
sea level - and is a special test of your golf skills,
that is if your not concentrating on the scenery.

Golf at Fairway Pines (just
40 minutes away)
Fairway Pines is located high atop Loghill Mesa only
33 miles form Telluride. It is surrounded on all sides
by towering 13,000 foot snow covered peaks, Fairway
Pines was rated by Golf Digest as a “4-Star Place
to Play". This par-72 course is a challenge for
players of all levels. The landscape is “arid- desert”
but with some rolling hills and ponds. The course
is also frequented by wild elk and migrating birds.

The Gondola
Take a ride on our Free Gondola, a 13-minute ride connecting
our Historic Victorian mining town to the modern resort
of Mountain Village. Spectacular views and access to skiing,
biking and hiking provide great convience. The Gondola is
open from 7:00am until 12:00 midnight and is used for public
transportation between Telluride and Mountain village.
Bouldering
A man-made boulder sits outside the Conference Center
Plaza in Mountain Village. Climbers are FREE to attempt
its routes

/ Biking
Bridal Veil Falls
Mother Nature offers FREE admission to Colorado's
longest free-falling waterfall. Just drive or walk
the 1.2 miles to the West end of the box canyon. A
must see and Photo opportunity (Mark's favorite).
Bear Creek
Canyon - (Easy to Moderate)
This is a favorite of locals and visitors alike, because
Bear Creek's amazing serenity and beauty makes you
feel like you're miles away from civilization. It's
2 miles one way to the waterfalls with a 1,040 foot
elevation gain within this 325-acre mountain canyon
that is secured for the public by the Telluride Land
Trust. Enter the trail from the end of South Pine
Street and follow Bear Creek up the canyon and enjoy
views of jagged peaks on your way to the waterfalls.
About .25 miles before the falls, watch for the sign
on your right announcing the trailhead to the rugged
and challenging Wasatch Trail, which continues for
another 13 miles.

Cornet Falls Trail
- (Moderate, but short - 1/2 mile round trip)
Enter at the north end of Aspen Street just like the Jud
Wiebe however skip the bridge on your left and go straight
on the Cornet Creek trail. This is only 1/4 mile round trip
and can be steep and perhaps slippery at times. It winds
up the gorgeous cornet creek canyon with a lovely 35 foot
waterfall surrounded by a red rock ampthitheater.
The Gondola Ridge
Trail System - (Easy to Moderate)
Ride the “G”to the top and exit towards town. You can go
two directions 1)Easy hang a left and follow the Ridge down
to Mounatin Village about 1.5 miles downhill. It winds and
swithes back And forth looking west offering up gorgous
sunsets and great shots of the Telluride valley. You end
up on the paved road above the MV Core so saunter down and
have a Beer. 2) Moderate- Follow the Telluride Trail down
the ski slopes on a gravel jeep road. This one winds down
for 2 miles (all downhilkl) and ends up at the bottom of
the Gondola. A bit hard on the knees after awhile, but amazing
vies of town and looking East towards Ingram Falls.
Jud Wiebe Trail
- (Moderate) Great photo opportunities
of Telluride and the scenic mountains!
Moderate - photo opportunities of town and the scenic mountains.
Great views all the way on the traditional locals' hike
with a 2.7 mile loop and 1,200 foot elevation gain. Enter
at the north end of Aspen Street, then turn left and cross
the bridge over Cornet Creek. Jud Wiebe loops above town
with views of Bridal Veil and Ingram Falls, town, and the
ski area, then continues to Tomboy Road and back to town.
Sneffels Highline Trail -
(Difficult) Great photo opportunities!
If you're hearing the call of the wild, this is your answer
for robust backcountry challenge and endurance. Follow the
Jud Wiebe trail and at .5 miles take the path to the left
that crosses Butcher Creek. Turn right at the sign post
and climb north. This is a 13-mile loop with a 3,600 foot
elevation gain. The trail will lead you above timberline
to Pack Basin, over a saddle and into Mill Creek Basin.
Continue down to Mill Creek, turn left to access the Waterline
trail (over bridge), and return to the Jud Wiebe and back
to town.Take plenty of water and look out for bad weather,
it’s a long day…

Horseback Riding around
Telluride
Ride with Roudy on one and two hour trail
rides. Elk and aspen stands abound on the trails that traverse

Jeeping
Tomboy Mine
Hike or jeep to the Tomboy Mines, where vast riches of late
gold and silver were found in the late 1800's. The road
starts at the top of Oak street, 4 Wheel drive mandatory.
Alta Lakes
Jeep to the beautiful and senic Alta lakes, incredible old
Ghost town, with amazing views. Drive out of MV South for
4 miles to the road on your left. An easy grade 15 minutes

RIVER
RAFTING
The lively class III San
Miguel originates in the snow fed waterfalls of Telluride

Swimming, Town
Park
The pool at Town Park is open May 25-September
2, Tuesday-Friday 1:00-5:30pm, Saturday-Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm.
Admission is $1.50 for ages 7 to 17, and free for kids under
7 accompanied by an adult. There are two sessions of American
Red Cross swimming lessons, June 24-July 19 and July 22-August

The Parks & Recreation
Dept. host a variety of sports camps in the summer for kids.
Basketball camp is held in mid-July, baseball camp at end
of July and beginning of August, and soccer camp in mid-August.

Telluride Town Park
Parks Dept. The Telluride Parks and Recreation
Department offers a variety of year round programs for youth
and adults in Town Park, at the school gyms, up in the Bear
Creek Preserve, and at the Youth Center. Our staff provides
assistance to the Commission for Arts and Special Events
( CASE ) and the Parks and Recreation Commission. Our department
also manages and approves the applications for Town Park
core area reservations, banners, street closures, and pocket
